About
As of 2026, it's 47 years old.
Twix solved a problem candy bars didn't know they had: loneliness. By packaging two bars together — crunchy biscuit, caramel, chocolate — it offered both a snack and a spare, or a built-in excuse to share that nobody actually uses.
It arrived in the US in 1979, then spent the 2010s running a gloriously pointless marketing 'rivalry' insisting Left Twix and Right Twix were made by feuding factories. They are, of course, identical, which never stopped anyone from picking a side.
Crunchy, chewy, chocolatey, and twice as much as you bargained for, Twix remains the bar most likely to start an argument over which side is superior.
