Batman in 1966 made one bold, brilliant choice: play the Caped Crusader completely straight while being utterly, knowingly ridiculous. The result was a candy-colored, 'POW!'-and-'BAM!'-splashed camp masterpiece where Adam West delivered the silliest lines with the gravitas of Shakespeare.
