The Virtual Boy was Nintendo's 1995 swing at virtual reality: a red-and-black goggle rig on a stand that you hunched over like you were inspecting a very tiny crime scene.
It was 'portable' in the way a cinder block is portable, the eye-searing monochrome red reportedly gave players headaches, and it was quietly euthanized within a year. Even Nintendo seems to pretend it never happened.
