About
As of 2026, it's 53 years old.
Perfection debuted in 1973 and weaponized one thing: panic. Set the timer, push down the spring-loaded tray, and frantically jam 25 oddly-shaped yellow pieces into their matching holes before the clock runs out — at which point the tray violently POPS up and launches every piece you didn't place into the air and across the room.
That sudden, startling eruption is the entire personality of the game; everyone who's played it remembers the jump-scare of the pop and the scramble to find pieces under the couch afterward. It's less a game than a tiny anxiety simulator with a built-in mess.
Frantic, startling, and gloriously stressful, Perfection is the beat-the-clock classic whose explosive finale is the most memorable thing about it.
